The North Carolina State Archives Library Building opened in 1964 as the North Carolina State Archives and History Museum. The building is currently home to the North Carolina State Department of Cultural Resources and State Archives Library. Progressive Contracting Company, Inc. continues to make building safety improvements to bring the building up to code, as well as the following changes to the library:

lobby renovations
auditorium renovations
office renovations
ADA upgrades
