Progressive Contracting Company, Inc. (PCCI) provided the historic
restoration and reconstruction of this mid-1800s birthplace and childhood home of NC Governor Charles B. Aycock after a fire event damaged more than 40% of the dwelling. Replication of select Heartpine material was used for the reconstruction of structural framing, floor, wall, and ceiling finishes and trim components. Roof coverings were replaced with replication scalloped cedar shingles as well as the replication of windows and doors which were traditionally handcrafted on site and hardware hand forged.
