Progressive Contracting Company, Inc. provided preservation of the historic masonry foundations of the James Iredell House, circa 1756 which included installation of an extensive underground French drainage system, and installation of new copper gutters and downspouts.

An Archeologist was apart of our team to investigate and record cultural levels during excavations and a Geotechnical Engineer was also hired to survey and provide testing and analysis of the soils at foundations and excavations. Temporary shelters were built to enclose foundations to implement drying process (dehumidifiers and application of poultice) before mortar repairs were conducted as detailed by Chief Conservator Thomas Taylor at the Williamsburg Foundation.
