Wake County Courthouse Salisbury Street Lobby Renovation

The WCCH Salisbury Street Lobby Renovation consisted of two phases.  The first phase was to renovate the Muster Are of the Wake County Sheriff’s office and the second consisted of the complete renovation of the main courthouse entrance and lobby off of Salisbury Street.  All work had to be performed between the hours of 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM with very limited storage for materials and equipment.  Interior renovations consisted of demolition, masonry walls, millwork, new glass entrance systems, drywall partitions/ceilings, imported marble wall panels/tile, acoustical ceilings, and paint.  The existing fire sprinkler system had to be completely removed and reinstalled.  All existing HVAC equipment was removed and a new water based air handler was installed along with new hydronic piping, VAV units, air distribution, and ductwork.  New LED style lighting, access control systems, security systems, and electrical distribution completed the project.

During the course of the work, the lobby had to be closed to the all pedestrian traffic.  Since the lobby served as one of the main entrances for the general public as well as the primary entrance for Judges, timelines were critical.  The work to the lobby was completed in 4 1/2 months.
